"Gale Warner was diagnosed with lymphoma at age 30. As an award-winning poet and journalist, Gale hoped to write the remarkable story of her own recovery. Over the next thirteen months, she dedicated herself to writing in her journal, expressing in a fresh and inspired literary voice her well-earned wisdom about being fully alive."

Gale Warner worked as a freelance environmental journalist for various publications, including The Christian Science Monitor, The Boston Globe, Parade, and Sierra. An accomplished poet, she received the American Poet's Prize in 1985. Her husband, David Kreger, M.D., is a Harvard-educated physician who leads workshops on leadership and empowerment. He has delivered over two hundred motivational presentations to audiences throughout the United States and Europe.
